Diana and I started in the bed business in 1996 selling adjustable beds with in home appointments.

We met a lot of wonderful senior citizens and the work was very rewarding but, alas, the company we were working with went out of business.

We loved getting calls from our customers telling us how the beds had changed their lives.

Leg cramps gone, acid reflux no longer plaguing them, back and neck pain relieved or gone and the list just goes on.

Even though those beds were state of the art at the time, nothing was to change the way we viewed a good night’s sleep like the advent of the memory foam mattress.

Our neighbor told us about his and we ordered one. We were immediately hooked on this way of sleeping.

My back problems became a thing of the past along with the sciatic nerve that had been like sleeping with a knife in my hip pocket.

Diana had a horse wreck several years ago and the aftermath of that increased her pain every year.

The memory foam didn’t take it all away but it sure allowed her to start sleeping somewhat normally again for the first time in many years.

During the years that followed, people would contact me with questions about specific brand names (which had grown into the hundreds) and I would try to research and find out if that might be a good product for them.

Nowadays, there have gotten to be so many different mattresses, I just can’t keep up anymore.

So, I tell them to just make sure of the basics, like asking about the foam density, temperature sensitivity and where the foam comes from.

Also, to make sure it’s cut to full standard dimensions and what the actual thickness of the memory foam is.

Buying a 12″ thick mattress with only 2″ of memory foam on top won’t be a good deal at all.

You want to buy quality U.S. memory foam because there’s no way to tell what kinds of toxic ingredients might be in a foreign made mattress.

There are unscrupulous sales people taking advantage of the public’s lack of knowledge and selling them horrible imitations that are just a rip off.

Most sales people don’t have a clue about memory foam so they just sell you something without knowing if it’s good or not.
